Just Give Me The Freaking Bag.

Um, Charles, are you a little grumpy today?

But speaking of corporate directives, have you noticed the system at Nordstrom? When you pay for something, they WILL NOT simply hand you the bag over the counter. Every single time the sales associate will walk around the counter and make it like a bag presentation. It doesn’t matter if there’s a line of people behind you, it’s every register, every department.

So now I try to run interference and grab the bag before they can and it makes them CRAZY. Feel free to test this.

When I spend an hour with a sales associate and spend a significant amount of money, it’s appreciated.

When I duck in for the semi-annual, grab a cheap shirt, and spend more money at the ebar on coffees and waters than I did on said shirt, it seems a little forced.

I do love the level of service at Nordstrom, and I never rock the boat, so can you just consider me the “control group” for your experiment?

I agree with bc. Give me the service. So few places offer any kind of acknowledgement that you chose their store in which to spend your money be it $1000 or a $15 tube of Ultra Lash Black-Brown.

It’s Nordy’s service that keeps me going back time and time again when I could probably save money at Macy’s whose service is non-existent.

I think handing the bag over the counter is sufficient. Walking the 8 foot arc around the counter when I am standing two feet in front of you is just awkward for both parties.
