Hi. My Name is Brad. I’ll be Your New Reporter.

Good morning Park Cities! My name is Brad Pearson (though my fancy byline says Bradford Pearson) and I’ll be your new Park Cities beat reporter. I come to your humble towns from Baltimore, Md., where I last covered Medicare and Medicaid reform, and its implications on medical businesses. Before that I worked for a paper similar to Park Cities People called The Gazette, based in Gaithersburg, Md.

(The picture above is from a Gazette story when the Westboro Baptist Church protested at a local high school. I don’t regularly hang out with teenagers.)

I’m originally from New York, then moved to Philadelphia for college, and Washington D.C. for work. Dallas, thus far, has been a very different experience for me, starting with the fact that my apartment building doesn’t recycle. I’m going to chalk this up to being a charming Texas experience, and look for a blue bin somewhere in my neighborhood.

Feel free to call or e-mail me with any story ideas or news tips. Oh and I’m also on Twitter, which I’ll use for work as well as pleasure. If you see me on the street, say hi.

Brad

Recycle? I’m sure there’s a bike shop somewhere in Uptown. They’ll fix you right up.

Welcom Brad. Whole Foods and public libraries host recycling bins. Good places to get rid of moving boxes.

    Brad – Welcome!

Perhaps one of your first stories could help us get the word out about a dog bite that occurred at the middle school play ground about 5:30 – 6:00 PM on Thursday evening, September 16. We need to locate the dog soon or my son will likely have to undergo a series of rabies immunizations. So far, no one has come forward. The owner of the dog walked the dog on a leash to the school, then let the dog off leash to run, which the dog then came up behind my son and bit him on his left b***, unprovoked. The owner was aware that his dog bit my son and left the scene. The dog is a medium sized black and brown dog, with pointed ears. A white and brown dog was also walking with the owner. If any of your readers know of anyone with a dog(s) that fit this description – please have them call 214-563-3625 or 214-641-4703 so we can check to make sure the dog is current on its rabies vaccination.

    Thanks!

Take a look at the Remington(Shenandoah@Hillcrest). There are a couple of dog owners there who fit that discription.
