Mockingbird Station Has a New Tenant

A week from Friday marks the launch of Mockingbird Station’s newest arrival: The People’s Last Stand.

“We are a motley crew of international and domestic transplants, native Texans, students and scholars, professionals and blue-collar workers, liberals and conservatives,” owner Kartik Rathore said in a press release. “We have come together to create something that celebrates the disparities in our backgrounds. Despite our differences, we believe that it is infinitely more rewarding to identify and commemorate our similarities.”

So what is it? A sociopolitical movement? A drum circle? A bar and bistro?

It’s the latter.

The Oct. 7 opening party starts at 8:30 p.m., by the way, and includes music, cocktails, and a handful of swag bags from neighboring stores. For more about the business, visit its Facebook page.
