Shred Some Stuff Saturday. Seriously.

University Park will host its semi-annual document shredding event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, at the Highland Park Middle School parking lot. The city will also be collecting old electronic items (computers, televisions, cell phones) to be recycled.

The event is free. If nothing else, it’s an opportunity to shred all those old Park Cities Peoples you’ve been hoarding.

For real? I can show up with a 6 inch high stack of papers and they’ll shred them for me? I recently cleaned out my office and have a very large pile I need shredded.

Excellent! If people want to shred financial documents or confidential information, do we watch them being fed into a giant cross-cut shredder, or are they put into a bin to be taken offsite? I know you can shred checking & savings info after year-end statements, but does anyone know about the difference in money funds…money market…mutual funds? Don’t quite get which ones you have to keep for cost basis.

The important part is taking electronic stuff. Old TVs, that 1992 computer. You can’t take electronics to the Garland disposal center.

Since its on HPMS property, some enterprising PTA momma needs to set up a donations table.
