UP City Council Denies Alley Abandonment

The University Park City Council denied a request Tuesday to abandon an alley directly in the middle of the proposed Chase Bank development.

The alley runs parallel to Hillcrest Avenue, between Haynie and Daniel avenues. If the city had approved the request, the appraised value of the alley is $281,000, $125 per square foot.

On Oct. 4, the City Council voted down Legacy Hillcrest’s redevelopment plans for the site; attorneys for the developer indicated they may build a parking garage on one side of the site instead.

It has been 3 days since the DMN reoprted that Legacy Hillcrest filed a lawsuit against UP over the denial of the proposed parking garage. Yet I see nothing from PCP. What gives?
