Bring Frozen Turkeys to HPHS Tomorrow

The Community Service Council at Highland Park High School will host a “Scots 4 Turkeys” drive from 6:30 to 9 a.m. tomorrow. Students will be collecting frozen turkeys at the Westchester entrance to the high school. The birds will then be donated to the North Texas Food Bank, which will distribute them to families for Thanksgiving. Council member Laura Perez-Arnold says her group is aiming to collect at least 3,000 turkeys, in an attempt to outdo their counterparts at Coppell High School. Charity as a competitive sport — you’ve gotta love it.

    Dear Dan,
I thought the turkey collection was a huge success for the food bank. I am wondering if you can help FRIENDS OF THE LOST BOYS, a local volunteer nonprofit charity to help the lost boys by publizing the sale of our holiday cards and book? ALL profits help the lost boys in Dallas! Sales start monday online.
    Thanks much,
    Deanna
