Basketball Teams Back in Action

After taking Tuesday off for final exams, both the Highland Park basketball teams will be back on the hardwood tonight.

The Lady Scots (10-3, 0-1) will play their first home District 10-4A game when they take on Wylie East (3-10, 0-1) at 7:30 p.m. Highland Park fell, 58-54, in its 10-4A opener last Friday at Rockwall. The Lady Raiders lost to McKinney North, 61-42, in their district opener.

The Scots (10-1) will have a non-district road game tonight when they travel to Southlake Carroll for a 7:30 p.m. tip. The Dragons are 9-5. The Highland Park, which just suffered its first loss of the season, opens district play at home against Wylie on Tuesday.

    Is No. 24 on the Lady Scots named Veruca Salt? Her tongue and face look like she’s chewed too much of Willy Wonka’s blueberry-pie-flavored gum.
