WANTED: A Four-Foot Tall Frozen Yogurt Cone

Plaza Health Foods owner Max Fuqua with cheerleaders Emily Olson, Celia Holmes, and Anna Montie, in happier times

When you flip open Friday’s paper, you’ll see a small item in the police blotter regarding Plaza Health Foods. To elaborate a bit, I emailed owner Max Fuqua. I’ll let him take it from here:

I’m actually offering a reward of $500 to the person who has info that leads to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle. He drove his coffee brown, four door Ford King Ranch pick up south bound down Snider Plaza Blvd. Stopped in front of my shop. A guy jumped out grabbed my cone and threw it in the back. The driver then reversed his vehicle the wrong way back up the Blvd. , swerving to barely miss the vehicles travelling in the correct direction ( I dont know how he did that). He drove reverse into the roundabout, ran into the fountain, then drove east out of the Plaza on Milton. He almost ran in reverse over three of my good customers who happened to get the description of the truck, the guys (4 high school senior or freshman college age white guys), and a partial Texas license plate number starting with SV4.

Got any tips? Head to Plaza Health Foods and land yourself $500.

Reward? With that amount of information that Max has, shouldn’t the police department already have that sucker in jail awaiting his bubba’s dinner?

Seriously, can’t they just plug in those plate numbers, narrow by make, model, color and show up at this kids door?

I agree with Avid Reader…that can’t take more than a few minutes to figure out who the vehicle is registered to.

Maybe Max is giving enough info to let them know that he knows who they are, to see if they have a conscience and return the cone before he has the law go get them.

Good thought DemBones. However, if it’s in the Police Blotter then it was reported as a crime and out of Max’s hands at this point. I realize that a cone theft is not a life threatening or even at the top of the police departments to-do list, but it seems like this should take very little effort/time and could send a good message to the rest of the not so merry pranksters/thieves.

I bet it was someone who didn’t want wine sold at Tom Thumb.

In all honesty, this is a minor issue that has been rubbing me the wrong way since I read the post. If we can’t have confidence that our law enforcers can catch a couple dumb kids when armed with descriptions of them, along with make/model/color and half the license…how can we have confidence in them to solve a more serious crime that might have less evidence?

At least four Ford pickups starting with that plate number from Stanton, Texas. One is half ton and the rest are one ton. Bet the UP guys can narrow it down.

    Avid Reader,

It’s not out of Max’s hand, it’s still up him to if he wants to press charges or not.
