Cowboy Up Joins Crowded Hair-Care Market

A few years ago, it seemed like tacos were the new frozen yogurt. Now, men’s haircuts are the new tacos. (There’s a sentence I never thought I’d write.) I got a press release this morning announcing that a men’s salon called Cowboy Up is taking over the former 24-Hour Fitness space in Preston Center. No opening date was included in the release, but the joint’s debut will come on the heels of the recent openings of Roosters around the corner and The Gents Place at Preston and Royal.

As you might imagine, Cowboy Up will feature country music, cold beer, and stylists in cowgirl boots. Teenage Dan would have been a regular patron, as I had a lot of hair back then, when nothing revved my engine like a girl in a skirt and boots. Alas, my need for professional hair care ended when my teens did. Pity.

Oh come on, how about a nice shave with a warm towel? Scalp massage? I’m sure they have services you can’t do without. You could always visit as a public service.

After all, you are the press ’round these here parts.
