Ocho Opens Today in Preston Center

You may remember reading my story in the Sept. 7 edition of Park Cities People about two Highland Park High School graduates preparing to open a new restaurant in Preston Center. Well today’s the official grand opening for the trendy Tex-Mex restaurant: Ocho Kitchen + Cocktails.

Under the direction of Mi Piaci’s Brain Black and operating partner Ben Crosland, the multi-level restaurant offers a unique menu prepared by chef Eric DiStafano of the popular Coyote Cafe in Santa Fe, and a trendy tequila bar and lounge on its outdoor top deck.

Crosland developed the house margarita himself, which is $7, and said the rest of the menu is “unlike anything the Park Cities has seen.” Ocho Kitchen + Cocktails is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily in the 8400 block of Preston Road. For pictures of the place, click here.

Nothing more annoying than Valet Only. Can you get direct access from the parking garage?

Hate Valet Only: Yes, there is direct access from the parking garage if you walk accross the street past Snuffers, Quiznos, and California Pizza Kitchen. Then turn left on Preston and walk half a block down and it will be on your left. Or, you can walk past Starbucks, Kinkos, and the alterations store on Northwest Highway and cut thru the key store parking lot (is that what is still on that corner) and voila- direct access.

That space just needs to be a pizza hut delivery store front. I’m sure the rent is insane but a delivery only place is all that will survive there.

@Valet I am talking about the parking garage that you can access CPK and Snuffers from the 2nd floor, not the big one in the middle of the square.
