Covenant Wins First State Football Title

After falling in the state championship game each of the last three seasons, Covenant came away with a 60-40 victory over Boerne Geneva on Saturday in Zephyr in the TAPPS Six-Man Division I championship game.

The Knights (13-1) handed the Eagles their first loss of the season with the big win.

Also on Saturday, TCA-Addison lost a shootout to district rival Fort Worth Nolan, 48-45, in the 11-man Division I title game in Waco. The Trojans finished 11-3 on the season. In the first meeting, the Vikings won handily, 28-7.
