As usual, former Scot Clayton Kershaw was dominating for the Los Angeles Dodgers in their season opener against defending World Series champion San Francisco on Monday in Tinseltown.

But after eight innings, the game was still scoreless. So, what did Kershaw do? He calmly belted his first career home run to help the Dodgers to a 4-0 victory over the Giants.

Kershaw was all smiles as he crossed home plate in front of delirious fans and teammates. The lefty finished with a four-hit complete game. He’s the first pitcher to homer and toss a shutout on Opening Day since 1953.
