More Hoop Drama For Park Cities

You may recall Erin Schreyer’s quest to keep her semi-permanent basketball hoop in her University Park yard. Now, Highland Park is mulling over the topic for their residents, too.

At this morning’s Town Council meeting, staff went over proposed changes to the town’s zoning ordinance. One of those topics was — you guessed it —basketball hoops in the front yard. However, the council decided to table the changes for a few more tweaks. If you’d like to speak up on the matter — for Highland Park this time — look for the town’s next council meeting on July 22.

For more updates on the basketball hoop situation, look for more details in this week’s Park Cities People.

What is the ordinance on ugly trampolines in the front yard?? Our neighbor has decided to put one in their front yard next to an awful plastic swing set and to top it off they put out a brown leather sofa on their front porch…..looks like Sanford & Son!

The basketball goals don’t look half as bad as all the trampolines in the front yard! Not to mention the safety hazards for any kid walking by. Just a thought …

And, I can’t imagine the safety hazard for any kid walking by that decides to jump on them. I don’t even like the one in my back yard — the way it looks or the two broken bones its caused!
