Sad News: UP Police Chief is Leaving Us

Gary Adams has served as the University Park police chief since May 2000, but now he will leave that post to head up the police in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.

“Gary’s leadership has played an essential role in fashioning and maintaining a department that is admired across North Texas,” city manager Bob Livingston said in a statement.

Adams’ last day with UP will be Sept. 25. His “long-term desire to retire in Arkansas” helped him make the decision, among other factors. Captain Greg Spradlin will serve as interim chief.

Lot of students must be happy with that news. Definitely going to be less busted parties.

Honestly, I’m sure many of the police officers in UP are doing the HAPPY DANCE too! Couldn’t stand the guy.
