Off to Southfork Ranch we go! The judgement has been made: co-chairs Mary Gill and Brooke Shelby have decided that the 10% chance of rain won’t take Cattle Baron’s Ball indoors. Here’s what Shelby had to say about it:
“The weather changes so much here, it’s the best and worst thing about being in Texas. If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute and it’ll change. But when you’re hosting a party for 3,500 people who have gotten wet in the past and don’t want to get wet again, we have to commit one way or another.”
Well the co-chairs have committed, and it looks like the back up plan, hosting at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, won’t be necessary. We’ll be there this weekend, on the lookout for fabulous cowboy fashion, and people having a grand ole time. Come find us!
Also, don’t forget to pick up our October 4 issue for a special section on the Cattle Baron’s Ball, advice from past attendees on what to wear, and a story on why the beneficiary is near and dear to the co-chairs hearts.
