Dallas Cowboys rookie receiver Terrance Williams, who played at Baylor, has made quite a splash on the field the last two weeks.

Last Friday, he made an even bigger splash at his alma mater, W.T. White. Williams, along with fellow alum and former NFL player Jason Smith, were on hand to see the Longhorns battle Jesuit.

Williams was an honorary captain for W.T. White, which lost to Jesuit, 71-34. He also signed autographs during pre-game festivities.

Separated by less than a mile and both having Texas-themed mascots, Jesuit and W.T. White have decided to have an annual rivalry trophy for the winner of “The Battle of the Saddle.” The trophy, an authentic, custom Texas Rangers saddle, will be awarded to the school that fares best in seven sports match-ups — football, two basketball games, two soccer games, and two baseball games.

The saddle becomes the centerpiece of the rivalry series thanks to the generosity of three generous local families and the Texas Rangers Association Foundation (TRAF), headquartered in Waco. The foundation promotes and supports active and retired Rangers and provides scholarships for their children.

Texas Ranger Company B Ranger David Armstrong, was the honorary captain for Jesuit. Armstrong is also a former Baylor football player.
