Broadcaster and author Garrison Keillor is scheduled to appear at the Barnes & Noble across from NorthPark on Thursday, two days before A Prairie Home Companion emanates from the Music Hall at Fair Park. This isn’t Keillor’s first visit to Dallas since 2006, when he wrote a column badmouthing the crowd who’d heard him speak days earlier at Highland Park United Methodist Church. (I know he was here in 2010.) But a reader told me he’d love it if a reporter showed up at the bookstore tomorrow to ask Keillor some pointed questions about that 2006 column. The reader, who is a member of Highland Park UMC, is still steamed about it, and he’s not the only one.
