Preston Hollow native David Molay recently was given the J.E. Wallace Sterling Award for Scholastic Achievement at Stanford University. The award is based on overall academic performance and is presented to the top 25 graduates each year in Stanford’s School of Humanities and Sciences.

Molay and the rest of the recipients were asked to invite a Stanford faculty member and their most influential secondary school teacher to the April 26 awards luncheon. Molay chose Frank Lopez, who leads the photography program at Greenhill.

While at Greenhill, Molay several photography awards and was recognized in 2010 as the top high school photographer in the country by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts.

After graduating in June with a bachelor’s degree in mathematical and computational science, Molay will work in New York City this summer before returning to Stanford in the fall to purse his master’s degree.
