It’s difficult to quantify the extent of yesterday’s storm damage in the Park Cities, obviously, but we do know that some of the trees, fences, and other outdoor structures didn’t take kindly to the high winds.

The city of University Park reported damage to more than 35 trees, including those across the road on Lovers Lane as well as various side streets. One even crushed a parked car in the 3500 block of Milton, and at least two others damaged homes.

Some homes are still without power. The city received numerous emergency calls between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m., many of them due to downed power lines or blown transformers. Clean-up crews were dispatched and are continuing their work today. Thankfully, we haven’t heard reports of any injuries.
