Last week, the Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum hosted their eighth Writer’s Garden Literary Symposium and Luncheon. The ladies were able to combine their love of gardening and literature while listening to three speakers through the morning sessions: Kim Wilson, Kelsey Mullen, and Greg Grant.

Wilson spoke on her third book about Jane Austen, entitled At Home With Jane Austen.

“The importance of house and home to her characters is a noted hallmark of her brilliant and endearing stories,” Wilson said.

Mullen is the public programming and education director at Edith Wharton’s homestead. She spoke on her book, The Mount: Edith Wharton’s Home, while East Texas native Grant spoke about his book, Heirloom Gardening of the South.

Each of the books were available to purchase. Proceeds go toward A Woman’s Garden, which is a portion of the Arboretum dedicated specifically to women.
