Third-grade students from Lamplighter spent their Saturday packing up meals at the North Texas Food Bank on Nov. 8 as part of the Kids Against Hunger Council.

The joint effort of 30 students and some parents made packing about 1,000 bags of food a speedy process, as they completed the task in just one hour. The bags will provide nearly 3,000 meals to those in the North Texas area.

The students learned valuable lessons about giving back and will help raise awareness for the organization. Lamplighter students plan to participate in two other Kids Against Hunger events next spring.
