After a wait that has lasted for more than a decade, Ursuline will finally play a soccer game under the lights at its new home field tonight.
The Bears will host Fort Worth Nolan at 6:30 p.m. at the brand new Sister Margaret Ann Moser Athletic Field.
Of course, the wait for a home field for Ursuline lasted much longer than the few months of construction earlier this year. The school has spent several years lobbying against residential neighbors for a lighted field, and finally received approval from the city of Dallas last year.
Previously, Ursuline — which has won 24 consecutive TAPPS state titles, by the way — played most of its home games about 10 miles off-campus at the University of Dallas. The new field also will be used by the school’s lacrosse program in the spring.
