Heritage Antiques and Interiors has in its possession a rug from Highclere Castle, setting for hit series Downton Abbey. The Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, who live at Highclere, commissioned a replica of the library rug for a World War One charity auction.

The rug will be on display at the Forestwood Antique Mall through Jan. 31.

“Antiques enthusiasts appreciate the renewed interest for many of our items that Downton has created,” Kerns said. “Some have even called this ‘The Downton Effect.’ We were fortunate to visit Highclere Castle two years ago and it was amazing. The castle and all of its furnishings are the set for the ‘upstairs’ scenes of Downton Abbey. Nothing is moved out, not even pieces like Napoleon’s desk. What you see on the screen is exactly as it is at Highclere.”
