After a successful sold-out debut last August, the Sammons Center for the Arts is repeating its Cabaret & Cabernet event on Jan. 23. As the name suggests, albeit in reverse order, the event features a cabernet wine tasting followed by a showcase of Dallas cabaret artists.
The lineup of performers includes emcee Linda Petty, Teddy Davey, Kay Ellingson, WT Greer, Carolyn Lee Jones, Terry Loftis, Jennifer Martin, Liz Mikel, Sara Shelby-Martin, and Heather Paterson. Each singer will perform one song from the Great American Songbook, or a Broadway show tune, ballad, or torch song, accompanied by the Larry Petty Combo.
The evening will benefit Sammons Cabaret, a combination of theater and music held on the third Thursday of each month during the spring and fall.
The wine tasting gets underway at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $325 for a table of eight and $250 for a table of six, and they include valet parking, wine and other drinks, and appetizers. For more information, call 214-520-7789.
