Daughter of Roshan Thomas to Visit Alcuin

Alcuin School will have a special guest on campus tomorrow when Samira Thomas, the daughter of education activist Roshan Thomas, visits for a session with students and staff, as well as a check presentation.

Her visit is part of the inaugural Roshan Thomas Day for Children of Texas IB Schools, and will spotlight the efforts of Alcuin students to raise funds for the Roshan Thomas Sparks Scholars program.

Roshan Thomas was a Canadian humanitarian and education ambassador who helped to develop medical clinics in refugee camps in Afghanistan, where she also founded a school for underprivileged children. She was killed during an attack on a Kabul hotel in March 2014.
