Students, faculty members, and friends of Alcuin School worked up a sweat for a good cause during the school’s inaugural 5K run and 1-mile fun run on April 18 at Trinity Skyline Trail, adjacent to the new Continental Avenue pedestrian bridge.

Proceeds will benefit the Alex Podeszwa Legacy Fund, which was created to honor an Alcuin student who lost a nine-year battle with cancer in September. The fund provides scholarship assistance and other endowment funding to students.

The event was chaired by Alcuin parent Brian Rogers, and included many student and parent volunteers.

And they're off.
And they’re off.
