Providence Students Travel Back in Time

Providence Class Two students got to travel back in time to 1853 and the Oregon Trail on April 1. They even donned costumes for their day of history.

Volunteer dads acted as trail bosses, while moms helped students practice their pioneer songs. Pioneer stations then led the students to pan for gold, practice shaving their faces or carding wool, play pioneer games, and climb aboard a wagon. The grand finale was a picnic lunch and square dancing.

Providence holds a number of living-history days for students throughout the year.
