Almost everybody has some sports equipment tucked away in their attic or garage that’s either become obsolete or a relic of bygone athletic accomplishments.

There’s a better use for such, ahem, treasures. For example, try donating them to Replay Sports, a Park Cities nonprofit group that will hold its annual collection drive during the next two Saturday mornings.

You can donate your “gently used” items from 8 a.m. to noon on Aug. 15 at Highlander Stadium and on Aug. 22 at Highland Park Middle School.

The organization is spearheaded by Highland Park ISD students who donate the used equipment to underprivileged youngsters in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Some of this year’s recipients will include youth groups in football, baseball, lacrosse, and golf.

This year’s Replay Sports officers are Paxton Alexander, Cade England, Gabe Galbraith, Thomas Glieber, Cam Ruk, Jack Sitzer, and Jack Toohey.
