There’s an SMU fraternity party next month at Gilley’s. Nothing new there.
But the latest collaboration between Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi) and Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE) turned some heads on campus this week when the racially insensitive invites hit social media. The folks over at Central Track do a fine job of explaining the details.
While we assume the gathering will attract — ahem — a culturally diverse crowd, you have to wonder what the organizers were thinking, or drinking, with this idea (which has since been amended, apparently). Perhaps some reminders about recent events are in order. What do you think?
