Change Makers Visit Lamplighter
The Lamplighter School’s Dolores Evans speaker series kicked off Nov. 9 with three “Change Makers” who discussed coming up with innovative solutions to the world’s problems.
More than 200 people attended the lecture, including Lamplighter’s fourth grade class.
The speakers were Jack Andraka, Stanford University freshman and author of “Breakthrough”; Kavita Shuckla, inventor of spice-infused FreshPaper which keeps food fresh; and William Kamkwamba, who built a solar-powered water pump to supply drinking water to his African village.
“They inspired me to do more at my age,” said Lamplighter student Sydney Phillips after the presentation.
