The City of University Park has announced Eddy Moore as the 2016 Citizen of the Year. The chair of the City’s Board of Adjustment, Moore was described in a nomination letter as “… the utmost champion of University Park’s causes.”

Among Moore’s several volunteer and philanthropic endeavors, he is a graduate of the Leadership University Park program and chairs the UP Community League. He was recently named the chair of the Foundations for the Future PAC in support of Highland Park ISD’s bond.

Moore lived in UP for two years before moving to Houston, where he graduated from high school. He then went on to become a Princeton University graduate, then on to SMU Dedman School of Law.

In a press release from UP, Moore responded to the news of being named Citizen of Year saying, “… The time I’ve spent working with my neighbors has been an enriching and rewarding experience for me. Honestly, I couldn’t do what I do without the support of my family, friends and colleagues.”

Be on the lookout for UP’s Citizen of the Year at the annual Fourth of July Parade on Monday, followed by a presentation at the Goar Park Gazebo.
