Meeks, Overton Pace HP at Rockwall Meet

The Highland Park girls finished second overall at the Rockwall Invitational on Thursday in their final compulsory meet of the season.

Led by sophomores Lily Overton and Tatum Meeks, Highland Park posted a runner-up finish in the team standings at the Rockwall Invitational on Thursday.

Overton was second in the all-around competition and won the balance beam with a score of 9.8. She also was third on floor exercise. Meeks placed second on beam and uneven bars, in which she scored a 9.75.

On the boys side, the Scots also were second in the team standings. Adam Elahamdi won on parallel bars and horizontal bar, while Stefan Bardwell took first place on vault. Marshall McIlyar was the runner-up in all-around, as well as floor, parallel bars, and high bar.

The meet wrapped up the compulsory portion of the schedule for the Scots, who will travel to their first optional meet on Jan. 19 in Irving.
