An untimely losing streak brought an end to one of the most impressive streaks in Texas high school baseball.

W.T. White dropped its final eight games in District 9-6A and missed the playoffs, snapping a streak of 34 consecutive postseason appearances for the Longhorns.

The first 32 of those playoff runs came under legendary coach David Shepherd, who retired in 2014. WTW last missed the playoffs in 1982.

This season, the Longhorns (10-17, 5-9) finished fifth in the district standings despite a promising 5-1 start.
