Kemp, Lady Scots Top North Forney
Highland Park held off a furious North Forney rally for a 60-58 win in its first District 15-5A home game on Friday.
The Lady Scots limited the Lady Falcons to just two points in the first quarter and led 31-13 at halftime before the comeback started. Mary Warriner Kemp helped HP hold the lead down the stretch with a game-high 23 points, while Ashley Turner added 13.
Next up, the Lady Scots will host West Mesquite on Friday afternoon, they will begin play in the Sandra Meadows Classic tournament on Dec. 28 in Duncanville.
