Scots on Parade

Back-to-back state champions from the Highland Park High School football and tennis teams were paraded through the Park Cities on Saturday to a cheering crowd of supporters.

Beginning at the west side of the high school on Douglas Avenue, the players relished in their victory alongside their coaches, the award-winning Highlander Band, the Highland Belles, cheerleaders and Scotsmen, the Sparkling Scots, and members of the 1945, 1957, 2005, and 2016 State Championship football teams.

Blue state championship souvenier footballs were tossed out into the crowd thanks to Allie Beth Allman & Associates. Sewell Dealerships provided the parade vehicles, and Royal Blue Grocery served up snacks, including hot chocolate.

A special program followed at the Goar Park Gazebo.
