Since January 2015, the Highland Park Town Council has been studying options for allowing the use of artificial turf in the front and side yard areas, but wants more public input on the matter.

A meeting has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Jan. 29 in the School Auditorium at Bradfield Elementary School Auditorium, 4300 Southern Ave.

In recent years, public interest in allowing artificial turf has increased, primarily due to inability to grow natural turf in shaded areas. At present, town rules only allow artificial turf in the side or rear yards where the material is not visible from streets, sidewalks, parkways, and/or alleys.
