Don’t miss your chance to help Bradfield Elementary students learns the art of a good old lemonade stand war.

Through Sunday, Feb. 4, a friendly local competition can be seen around the school’s campus just west of Preston Road at 4300 Southern Ave.

Bradfield Elementary families are reading The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies for their One School, One Book selection. The book is about a brother and sister competing to raise the most money with their lemonade stands.

Bradfield’s OSOB committee decided to use the Lemonade War concept to start a friendly local competition. All money raised will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a national childhood cancer foundation dedicated to raising funds for research into new treatments and cures for all children battling cancer.

One School, One Book is a program started by Read to Them, a nonprofit organization promoting family literacy. Their programs encourage reading together at home. The program is made possible by contributions from the Bradfield Dad’s Club and the Bradfield PTA.
