HP Wins Three at Scotland Yard Classic

Highland Park defended its home turf with three wins in four games at the annual Scotland Yard Classic baseball tournament over the weekend.

Although one game was scrapped due to inclement weather, the Scots (8-3) gained momentum entering the District 13-5A opener on Tuesday against Mesquite Poteet. They won seven straight games before a 3-1 defeat against Georgetown on Saturday.

Meanwhile, HP topped Keller 11-0 and Allen 5-4 on Thursday, then rallied past Sachse 7-6 on Saturday in the finale of the round-robin tournament. Southlake Carroll was the champion and the only undefeated team in the event.

The Scots will host Poteet on Tuesday before traveling to face the Pirates on March 18 during the first week of district play.
