Dallas police say they’re investigating reports of shots fired at Dallas Love Field airport, with local media reporting at least a portion of the airport was evacuated.
Police reported “the terminal is secure at this time” around noon Monday
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed they issued a ground stop for Southwest Airlines flights destined for Love Field at 11:11 a.m. Monday “due to security” that was lifted shortly before 2 p.m. Check with Southwest Airlines for more information about flights.
Dallas police said Portia Odufuwa, 37, was dropped off at Love Field just before 11 a.m., went to a restroom, and changed clothes.
Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia said she exited the restroom wearing a hoodie, produced a handgun, and fired several shots. Garcia said she appeared to aim toward the ceiling.
He said officers confronted her, shot her in the “lower extremities,” and she was taken into custody and transported to Parkland in unknown condition.

Garcia confirmed no other individuals were injured during the incident.

Rockwall Police Chief Max Geron said he was among those evacuated from the airport Monday morning.
Travelers at the airport were rescreened by TSA and Love Field reported operations resumed shortly before 4 p.m. Monday.
Court records show Odufuwa previously faced charges including robbery, arson, false reporting, and criminal trespass. The outcomes of some of those cases were unclear as of Monday, but several were dismissed.
