Favorites of 2022: Ukrainian-born Iconographer Decorated Saint Seraphim Orthodox Cathedral

After Russia invaded Ukraine in February, People Newspapers deputy editor Rachel Snyder spoke this spring to the Ukrainian-born iconographer whose work adorns the Saint Seraphim Orthodox Cathedral about his take on the conflict and Ukraine’s leader. His answer? Ukraine has “become extremely united.”

The resulting story was one of Snyder’s favorite stories of the year.
