Library Friends Plan Engaging Spring Events

The Friends of the University Park Public Library has announced an event lineup that will put a spring in your step this March and April.
The Friends will host its spring book sale from 12 to 5 p.m. on March 28, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 29, at the Peek Service Center, 4420 Worcola St. Shoppers can discover deals on a wide selection of books, including adult fiction, non-fiction, classics, cookbooks, and children’s titles. Funds raised will support the University Park Public Library.
College consultant Diane Wilcox will present on “Planning for College Admissions” from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on April 2 in the University Park Public Library’s third floor common room. During Meet Me at the Library Lunch Bunch, Wilcox will guide families through the complexities of college applications, essays, and financial disclosures. Registrations are appreciated, but not required. A $15 optional boxed lunch is available for those who make a reservation by March 26. Cash payments will be collected at the event. Award-winning Dallas journalist and author Glenna Whitley will visit the library on April 8. Whitley will share insights into writing true crime and translating real-life investigations into compelling narratives. The Meet Me at the Library event begins at 7 p.m. in the library community room, with light refreshments served starting at 6:30 p.m. The event is free to all, with reservations appreciated but not required.
