HP Seniors Chart College Athletic Paths
Talia Lardner became the fifth senior on Highland Park’s volleyball roster to sign with a college program this week.
Lardner, who played both right-side hitter and middle hitter for the Lady Scots last season, signed with High Point, a Division I program in North Carolina. She verbally committed to the Panthers earlier this spring.
Lardner honored alongside two HP soccer players at a ceremony recognizing spring athletic signees on Thursday in the school cafeteria.
Justin Ratner and Jack Madsen each were key members of a team that was the original winner of the Class 5A Division II state championship game last weekend in Georgetown (the contest was later forfeited).
Ratner will leave HP after a stellar goalkeeping career, but he will keep playing for the Scots, which is also the mascot for Macalester College in Minnesota.
Fellow team captain Jack Madsen was a versatile defender for HP who finalized his commitment to play for Trinity University in San Antonio.
