SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: BLOWBAG BURGLAR

A thief broke a window while trying to clean out a plumbing truck in the 4600 block of South Versailles Avenue, but ran away when the truck’s driver yelled at him at about 1:30 p.m. on April 30.

UNIVERSITY PARK

28 Monday

Reported at 4:55 p.m.: A mischief maker broke the side window of a 2020 Ford F-450 on Preston Road.

30 Wednesday

Officers seized drug paraphernalia after making a traffic stop of a 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse at an undisclosed location.

1 Thursday

Disorderly conduct on Binkley Avenue was reported in the University Park Police Department lobby at 8:11 a.m.

Reported at 9:44 a.m.: A 14-year-old student assaulted a teacher at Highland Park Middle School/McCulloch Intermediate School on Granada Avenue.

A 17-year-old student at Highland Park High School turned herself in on a Dallas County Sheriff warrant at about 12:28 p.m. on Emerson Avenue.

A brazen burglar broke into a locked 2020 Volkswagen at about 7:23 p.m. on Lomo Alto Drive.

2 Friday

A 36-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant at about 2:38 a.m. on Preston Road.

Reported at 11:08 a.m.: A robber entered the open door of a 2025 Land Rover on Rankin Avenue and stole a purse from the passenger seat. The purse’s owner attempted to wrestle the purse away from the suspect, but was pushed to the ground as the robber drove off in a Toyota 4Runner.

3 Saturday

A criminal cruiser stole a 2021 GMC Sierra from in front of a home on Asbury Avenue at about 9 p.m.

4 Sunday

A greedy thief didn’t work up an appetite while stealing a 2018 Range Rover from outside Muchacho on Villanova Drive. There was no forced entry, and it was unknown whether the key was left inside, or the vehicle was unlocked.

HIGHLAND PARK

28 Monday

A pedaling pilferer stole two Trek bicycles from a front yard in the 3500 block of St Johns Drive before 7:15 a.m.

A purse poacher stole a Louis Vuitton purse, credit and debit cards, a bottle of wine, $500 cash, Beats ear buds, prescription Xanax, sunglasses, and a Prada wallet at about 2 p.m. from a 2023 Audi Q3 in Highland Park Village.

A stealthy cyclist with a long list of arrests and an outstanding warrant was charged with giving police false information after he failed to disclose his name when he was stopped in the 4600 block of Beverly Drive at about 8:37 p.m. for not displaying lights.

29 Tuesday

Reported at 6:16 p.m.: A hasty thief stole a Patek Philippe watch worth about $15,000, and a bag of personal care products from a 2019 BMW X3 in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive, but left behind an iPhone when he fled after being startled by the car’s owner.

30 Wednesday

A 22-year-old man was arrested for criminal trespass and failing to identify himself in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue at about 2:46 a.m.

Reported at 3:38 p.m.: A fraudster opened a credit card at Macy’s in Town East Mall with the information of a resident of the 3500 block of Euclid Avenue, then purchased $622.76 in children’s clothing.

1 Thursday

A 50-year-old man was arrested on a warrant at about 4:34 p.m. in the 3800 block of Mockingbird Lane.

The thief who stole a 2021 GMC Denali from in front of Whole Foods in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive at about 6:40 p.m. threw the victim’s personal items and cell phone out of the truck, but apparently kept a .22 LR revolver.

2 Friday

A 24-year-old man was arrested for carrying a weapon without a license near the intersection of Lakeside Drive and Miramar Avenue at about 4 a.m.

A thief entered a 2023 Tesla Model S in Highland Park Village through an unlocked door at about 10:39 a.m., and helped himself to two bags, ear buds, sunglasses, clothing, makeup, and a wrist wallet.

A scoundrel stole more than $2,750 worth of tools and toolboxes from the uncovered truck bed of a 2021 Ford F-250 at about 12:20 p.m. in the 5400 block of Byron Avenue.

A reckless roadster hit a 2023 Ford F-250 in the 4300 block of Beverly Drive before 1:10 p.m., but took off without leaving information.

3 Saturday

A 45-year-old woman was arrested for stealing between $2,500 and $30,000 of property at about 7:52 a.m. in the 4700 block of Drexel Drive.

A porch pirate stole Amazon return boxes containing a gold necklace and clothes from outside a home in the 4400 block of Edmondson Avenue before 10:09 p.m.

4 Sunday

Reported at 12:51 a.m.: A troublemaker damaged both side mirrors on a 2008 Lexus while the car’s owner was at work in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue.

A 29-year-old woman was arrested on a felony warrant at about 1:47 a.m. in the 3600 block of Euclid Avenue.
