Oak Hill Academy announced the opening of a new high school campus at Cochran Chapel at 9027 Midway Road.
A community open house to showcase the partnership between Oak Hill Academy and Cochran Chapel United Methodist Church will be held on Oct. 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The two-story educational building for neurodiverse ninth through 12th graders features naturally lit classrooms, a student lounge, and expanded facilities for Oak Hill’s Transition and Life Skills Program, including the Practical Assessment Exploration System Lab.
The new campus allows Oak Hill Academy to serve more families with neurodiverse children in all grade levels at the school’s main location.
In addition, Oak Hill Academy’s Transition Skills Coordinator Karen Garrison has been named an Outstanding Special Education Teacher by the National Association of Special Education Teachers. The national award recognizes Garrison’s commitment to her students and the field of special education.
