Sophia Oliai, a sophomore, was the top runner for Highland Park as the cross country season opened last weekend in Plano.
Highland Park started the season in fast form by finishing third in the team standings at the Plano ISD Invitational on Saturday at Russell Creek Park.
Sophia Oliai paced the Lady Scots by placing eighth individually in 19 minutes, 33 seconds. Maddy Stephens came in 16th place.
HP will compete on Saturday at the Greenhill Six-Mile Relay at Norbuck Park, where the action gets underway at 8:30 a.m.
