Steve Mace, University Park spokesman, wants to warn residents about traffic slowdowns on March 16 through 18 on Lovers Lane near University Park Elementary.
Large trucks will queue up in the UP Elementary parking lot and then remove the portable buildings from the campus, each in two pieces. From there the trucks will head west on Lovers to Preston Road, and then make way north to Northwest Highway, and then head for Bonham ISD. If you remember, HPISD sold the portables to the East Texas district for $4,000 each, plus the cost of removal.
If you’ve ever been behind one of these types of semis, you know how difficult negotiating narrow roads can be. There will be plenty of signage, barricades, and flagmen directing drivers.
