Lately, it seems there is one thing more popular than boutique taco shops and frozen yogurt stands in Preston Hollow, Robots. Seriously, they are all the rage. This marks the third time I’ve written about robots in less than a year. That’s pretty substantial print space for something without sugary sweet or savory toppings.
The Hillcrest High School Robotics Team participated in its inaugural competition this weekend at Parish Episcopal School. The Panthers made it all the way to the elimination round and were finalists for the motivation award. Faculty sponsor (and computer science teacher) Kathleen Weaver said all team members exhibited “gracious professionalism.” Special shout-outs to chief builder and driver Steele Haspel, builder and driver Nun Chung, programmer and coach Jackson Stein, and programmer Syndey Pedigo.
