Craigslist Swindler Buys Motorcycle With Fake Cash

As I mentioned here, we’ve brought the police blotter back in its entirety (for now.) Here’s a sneak preview of some of the crimes you’ll find in Friday’s paper.
At 6 a.m. on April 22, a burglar broke into Pittsburgh Paints in the 9600 block of North Central Expressway, but fled empty-handed.
At around 11 a.m. on April 22, a woman left her car unlocked while she dropped clothing off at a dry cleaners in the 6700 block of West Northwest Highway. When she returned a couple of minutes later, a thief had already stolen her $100 purse containing a wallet, Coach sunglasses, and $100 picture frame.
At around 6 a.m. on April 23, thieves entered a house in the 4500 block of Pomona Road through an unlocked window and stole more than $10,000 worth of furniture and decor.

At 2 p.m. on April 24, a shoplifter tried to steal at least six bottles of wine from Whole Foods Market in Preston Forest Shopping Center.
At 8:20 a.m. on April 25, police were called to the 6700 block of Lakehurst Avenue, where a resident and two landscapers had coralled a thief in his garage.
At 4:34 a.m. on April 26, a pair of burglars broke into Mooyah Burgers in the 6700 block of West Northwest Highway and stole a $200 safe containing more than $1,000 cash.
At around 6:20 p.m. on April 26 at NorthPark Center, a man sold his blue 2004 motorcycle for $500 cash to a swindler he met through Craigslist. It wasn’t until after the bike was gone, however, that the man realized that half the cash was fake.
