With two games remaining, Highland Park still has some work to do if the Scots intend to return to the Class 5A Region II playoffs.
The Scots (12-7-2, 6-6) will host Thomas Jefferson on Friday at Highlander Stadium, in a game between two teams in the middle of the District 11-5A standings and battling for the final postseason seed. HP won the first meeting 2-1 on Feb. 14.
If the Scots don’t get a result on Friday, they will likely need to win on March 16, when they conclude the regular season with a road game against district leader Woodrow Wilson.
HP tumbled in the standings last week with shutout losses in consecutive games against Carrollton Creekview and R.L. Turner.
