Looking for a new way to enjoy books beyond the page? The Preston Royal Library, in partnership with the Hillcrest Forest Neighborhood Association, invites the community to dive into compelling stories and discussion through its monthly Book Discussion Club.

Whether you’re a longtime book club enthusiast or curious about joining for the first time, the Discussion Club offers opportunity to discover new titles, meet fellow readers, and connect with others through a shared love of reading.

Designed for readers of all backgrounds, the club offers a welcoming space where literature sparks meaningful conversation. Whether it’s a classic novel, a contemporary bestseller, or an undiscovered gem, each month’s selection is thoughtfully chosen to inspire insight, dialogue, and a deeper appreciation of the written word.

The discussion of Briar Club by Kate Quinn will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m. An Unfinished Love Story: A Personal History of the 1960s by Doris Kerns Goodwin will be discussed on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m., and the club will meet to discuss Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to reserve a copy of the featured book in advance by speaking with a librarian. The group meets at the Preston Royal Library auditorium, located at 5626 Royal Lane.
